When we linked up with ACE COMICS in Colchester 3 years ago we were
able to -
1. Reduce our Advance Order prices by an average of 10%
2. Reduce our Shop Retail Prices by a similar margin
3. Offer the FULL range of product in PREVIEWS to ALL customers
bypassing restrictions placed.
4. Offer Wholesale Terms to small shops and Traders.
Now, just over 3 years later, we have taken things a few steps further!
From NOVEMBER 1st, ACE COMICS,(or PLANET ACE Ltd, to give them
their proper Trading name), take over OWNERSHIP of RED HOT. I will,
however, remain as Manager, and all-round factotum!
So what does this mean?
Well, as far as Day to Day running goes, not much will change at least in
the next few months.
The WAREHOUSE will now CLOSE on a SUNDAY, with this coming
Sunday 28th being the last Official Sunday opening. We MAY on occasion
open on SUNDAYS for special occasions in the future, but for now we will
open to the Public 6 days a week, MON-SAT 11.30-5.30pm(Ivor gets a day
off, yippee!)
The Monthly Previews Order Deadline will vary(but 98% of you adapted to
the outrageously early October Deadline forced on us by our Distributor
this month so I don't think that will be a problem) from month to month, but
we will now be able to offer REDUCED listing prices on selected lines each
month, starting with ESSENTIAL TPB's and SHOWCASE PRESENTS in
November @27.5% off Retail!!
ALSO, pre-orders for the PREVIEWS Catalogue with Marvel Previews will
from November now only cost £2.50(down from £3.25) AND every Previews
order will generate you a £2 ACE VOUCHER which you can use against
Back Issue Purchases or Trade paperback orders of over £25 in one go!
BUT - Previews will no longer be FREE for Orders of over £100 from
Previews.
Our SHOP Prices on new arrivals will reduce from NOVEMBER 1st(on
arrivals on or after that date) e.g. $2.99 titles will then cost £1.95(that's 20p
saving on the Foreboding Competition or Anonymouscomics.com :) )
CHEQUE payments on and after NOVEMBER 1st should be made out to
PLANET ACE LTD(but still sent here, of course) and Credit/Debit card
payments will show up on your statements as PLANET ACE after
November 1st.
Many of you have been with us for 10 years, some even for 15, since Ivor
had a full head of hair! You KNOW that we provide a good service, you
KNOW that I care about ensuring customers get what they want at a
reasonable price and receive value for money!
You also probably know friends or colleagues who receive an inferior
service from the Disinterested Competition!. So, as a reward to you for
your loyal support, AND an incentive to you to share your positive RED
HOT experience with others. we will now award you with a 10% discount
for EVERY new customer who starts ordering EVEN ONE TITLE A
MONTH WITH US on your recommendation! More detail on this to follow.
So there you have it - not a sex change; not moving premises: not moving
down South, not taking over Foreboding Planters, not visiting
Narnia(thanks Jamie, think you need sleep, man!) but even BETTER
prices, even better value and a fighting chance that Ivor doesn't collapse
with exhaustion :)

Comics WILL be on SALE from as little as 5p! Graphic Novels and Trades
will be available from 50p, and we will be offering Magazines from 10p,
Toys and Action Figures from 50p, Trading Cards from 5p...so get your
wants lists out and make sure you bring enough cash! :)
